DELHI · AGRA · JAIPUR · PRIVATE CAB TOUR

Delhi Golden Triangle Tour Package

Three cities, three different histories: Delhi’s layered capital, Agra’s Mughal architecture and Jaipur’s Rajput courts. Five days can cover the landmarks, but the sequence matters—an early Taj visit and an Agra-to-Jaipur day with a chosen en-route stop help the trip flow.

A TRIP THAT FITS YOUR PACE

What this journey is built around

A strong first North India circuit for visitors who want monuments and city character in one trip. Choose the 5-day pace for highlights; add a night if you want longer museum visits, shopping or less time on the road.

  • Old Delhi and New Delhi landmarks
  • Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
  • Optional Fatehpur Sikri or Abhaneri stop en route
  • Amber Fort, City Palace and Jaipur’s old city

DAY BY DAY

A practical sample itinerary

Stops are a starting point. Final timing depends on pickup/drop address, opening hours, traffic and your travel dates.

01
Day 1

Delhi arrival and first city loop

Meet at your Delhi pickup point. Depending on arrival time, choose a compact set of stops such as Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate and a walk or food visit in Old Delhi. Avoid packing both sides of the city into a late arrival day.

02
Day 2

Delhi to Agra

Drive to Agra and visit Agra Fort after check-in or en route if timing allows. Keep the evening open for a view of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh or a quiet dinner.

03
Day 3

Taj Mahal at sunrise, then Jaipur

Visit the Taj Mahal early, then drive to Jaipur. Fatehpur Sikri is a worthwhile detour if you are comfortable adding time; Abhaneri’s Chand Baori is another optional stop, but doing both can make the day tiring.

04
Day 4

Jaipur’s royal landmarks

Start at Amber Fort, then see the Jal Mahal viewpoint, City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Add Hawa Mahal and one market walk if the day’s pace allows. Tickets, guides and activity choices are planned separately.

05
Day 5

Jaipur to Delhi

Use the morning for a final short visit or breakfast, then return to Delhi for your drop. Share a flight or train departure time before booking so the road plan can include a suitable buffer.

THE CIRCUIT · THREE CITIES

Why Delhi, Agra and Jaipur work as one journey

The Golden Triangle tour links three close but distinct cultural centres. Delhi brings together successive capitals and living markets; Agra concentrates Mughal imperial architecture; Jaipur adds an intentionally planned 18th-century city and Rajput court heritage. The route is strongest when each city gets its own pace rather than being reduced to a photo stop.

01

Delhi: many capitals in one city

Old Delhi’s Mughal streets and New Delhi’s 20th-century ceremonial avenues tell different stories. A good first day groups nearby monuments instead of zigzagging between the city’s edges.

02

Agra: Mughal court and garden design

The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are complementary visits: one is a carefully composed garden mausoleum, the other a red-sandstone imperial fortress with palaces and audience halls.

03

Jaipur: a designed trade capital

The walled city’s broad grid, market streets and public squares make a distinctive finale. Its architecture links royal institutions with everyday commerce and craft.

DELHI · OLD AND NEW

Choose Delhi sights by area, not by checklist

Delhi’s long history is spread across the metropolis. The capital moved through several historic centres; modern New Delhi added a different civic landscape. Grouping visits geographically keeps the Golden Triangle opening day from being lost to cross-city traffic.

01

Shahjahanabad and Old Delhi

The Red Fort, Jama Masjid and the lanes of Chandni Chowk belong to the old walled city. A heritage walk or short rickshaw ride can reveal the street scale more clearly than viewing everything from a car.

02

The garden-tomb story

Humayun’s Tomb is a major Mughal garden tomb built in 1570; Delhi Tourism notes its influence on later architecture, including the Taj Mahal. It creates a useful historical link before the Agra leg.

03

New Delhi’s ceremonial avenues

India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and the central government precinct reflect a later phase of capital-city design. They are a different experience from the dense fabric of Old Delhi; combine them on a separate half-day.

AGRA · MUGHAL ARCHITECTURE

Make time for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort

Agra rewards more than a quick stop between Delhi and Jaipur. The Taj Mahal was built between 1631 and 1648 under Shah Jahan; its garden, gateway, marble platform and balanced plan are part of the experience. Nearby Agra Fort adds the scale of the Mughal imperial city and helps put the monument in context.

01

Taj Mahal: look beyond the dome

Notice how the main tomb is placed at one end of a formal garden, with a central axis guiding the approach. Marble inlay, calligraphy and changing light reward an unhurried visit.

02

Agra Fort: a city within walls

The red-sandstone fort encloses palaces, audience halls and mosques. It is a substantial site, so leave enough time instead of attempting the whole complex immediately before the Jaipur drive.

03

Pick the right visit order

A sunrise Taj visit can work well when your hotel and tickets are arranged in advance. Keep Friday closure and current entry rules in mind, and verify details on the official visitor site before travel.

JAIPUR · PLANNED CITY

Finish with Jaipur’s forts, observatory and bazaars

Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II as a planned capital on the plains. Its grid, public squares and market streets are part of the heritage—not just the backdrop for monuments. The old city is compact enough to connect several visits, but Amber Fort sits outside the centre and needs its own time block.

01

Amber Fort and the hill setting

The former seat at Amer brings fort architecture and landscape together. Start early, allow time for courtyards, and avoid crowding the return to the walled city with too many extra stops.

02

Jantar Mantar: science in the city

The observatory’s monumental instruments make Jaipur’s connection to astronomy visible. Give yourself time to understand what the structures measure rather than treating the site as another palace.

03

Market streets and living crafts

Jaipur’s bazaars remain active commercial streets. Blue pottery, block printing and jewellery connect the city’s heritage to makers and shops still working today.

Humayun’s Tomb

A garden tomb in Delhi that offers a quieter, architectural start to the circuit than trying to cross the whole city on arrival day.
